ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Joel Martin

MY BACKGROUND
My name is Joel Martin, and I’m proud to call South Berwick home. Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of being a resident, a parent, a volunteer, and an engaged member of this vibrant community. Originally from Lewiston, Maine, I understand the importance of strong, connected communities across our state. Now, I’m seeking the opportunity to give back in a deeper way—by serving on the South Berwick Town Council.
With a background rooted in education, service, and community development, I bring both practical experience and a deep commitment to public service. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and New Media and a Master’s in Human Development, both from the University of Maine. I later earned a second Master’s in Organizational Behavior from Harvard Extension School. These academic experiences have shaped my approach to leadership: thoughtful, collaborative, and people-focused.
Professionally, I work remotely as a Customer Success Manager, where I specialize in building strong relationships, driving collaboration, and delivering efficient, cost-effective solutions.
I want to bring these same skills to Town Hall—fostering open communication between the Town Council, the Town Manager, and the people of South Berwick.
CAMPAIGN MISSION
Community First
I am running for Town Council because I believe in forward-thinking, community-centered leadership. My priorities include:
-
Investing in and maintaining critical public infrastructure
-
Promoting transparency and accountability in local government
-
Ensuring responsible, thoughtful use of taxpayer dollars
-
Creating inclusive opportunities for community input
The Town Council exists to serve its residents, and that begins with listening. If elected, I will work hard to ensure every voice in South Berwick is heard, respected, and valued.
Let’s work together for the future of South Berwick.
